4A State Championship @ Weber State University
OGDEN, Utah-Makai Allen netted 17 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds and the No. 1 Provo Bulldogs dismantled No. 6 Hurricane 62-42 Saturday to win the 4A state boys basketball championship at the Dee Events Center on the campus of Weber State University. Brigham Kemp’s 24 points and 6 rebounds led the Tigers in the loss. Provo now has 18 state championships in boys basketball but won its first since 2008. The Bulldogs have state titles in boys basketball in 1941, 1944, 1945, 1956, 1973, 1974, 1978, 1981, 1983, 1985, 1987, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2026.
3A State Tournament @ Southern Utah University
State Championship Game
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Bracken Saunders netted 28 points and 7 rebounds on 11/15 from the floor and 3/4 behind the arc as the No. 1 Morgan Trojans overpowered No.3 American Heritage 64-51 Saturday at the America First Event Center on the campus of Southern Utah University to win the 3A state championship. Jake Hansen added 23 points and 5 rebounds on 8/14 from the floor in the win for Morgan.The Trojans shot 56 percent from the floor in victory. Jackson Black’s 12 points led the Patriots in the loss. This was Morgan’s sixth all-time state title in boys basketball. Morgan has state championships in boys basketball in 1974, 2013, 2014, 2019, 2025 and 2026.
Girls Basketball
4A State Championship @ Weber State University
OGDEN, Utah-Taylssa Nelson posted 20 points and the No. 2 Green Canyon Wolves upset No. 1 Dixie 59-53 Saturday in the 4A state championship game at the Dee Events Center on the campus of Weber State University. Izzy Hollingshead led the Flyers in the loss with 17 points. By virtue of this victory, the Wolves earned their first-ever state championship in girls basketball.
